Todd Rosenlieb Dance: Spring Concert

The American Theatre is proud to again welcome an organizational pillar of our local arts community and a dear friend to Hampton Arts, Todd  Rosenlieb Dance, performing cutting edge, innovative and inspiring modern dance repertoire from Hampton Roads’ only professional modern dance company.

The company blends classical and modern forms, the “downtown” spirit, hints of pop culture and a keen sense of musicality. An eclectic sensibility allows for the use of a diverse musical palette that ranges from Brahms to Rufus Wainwright.

Todd Rosenlieb Dance  performs an original modern dance repertoire featuring works by Todd Rosenlieb, Ricardo Melendez, Erick Hawkins, Jon Lehrer and Bill Evans. This company of seasoned professionals has been presented locally by the Virginia Symphony Orchestra, the Virginia Arts Festival, the Virginia Opera Association, the Mid-Atlantic Regional Choreographers Festival, the Regional High School Dance Festival, Virginia Musical Theatre and Lyric Opera of Virginia.

National appearances include the Indianapolis Symphony, the South Carolina Dance Festival, Piccolo Spoleto, Lorraine Graves & Friends at Martha’s Vineyard, the Wellspring Project in New York, the “Yes Virginia Dance” concerts in Richmond, the “Small Dance Festival” in Harrisonburg, the American Cancer Society in Lancaster, PA, and Kim Whittam and Dancers in New York. Todd  Rosenlieb Dance has been off our stage for far too long, their return promises a unique concert specifically designed for American Theatre audiences, igniting vitality, energy and passion.
