Virginia Playwright’s Forum presents: Original One-Acts
Centered on the theme of ‘Balancing Acts’: three local playwrights examine the delicate and sometimes dangerous balancing acts people must perform as they make their way through life.
The three original works featured are:
In Bertha Doesn’t Live Here Anymore by D. D. Delaney: a bus driver for a mental health institution must weigh the ravings of one of the so-called insane against the institution’s company line.
In Kim’s Rage by P. A. Wray: a young Asian woman who has already sacrificed her honor for her family’s survival faces further self-degradation in order to save a loved-one.
In Snapshots by Jean H. Klein: a couple made up of two eccentric personalities struggles to find harmony as they confront their differences in religion, child rearing, and the importance of housekeeping.
