In addition to our changing exhibitions and quarterly art classes, The Charles Taylor Visual Arts Center offers other arts programming during the year.
A membership organization of approximately 300 regional artists. Programs include an annual Open Members Exhibition, discounts for classes, member meetings, and a Tuesday Morning Painters group.
Tuesday Morning Painters
Hampton Arts League members can meet in a classroom every Tuesday morning from 10am to 12:30pm to draw and paint without formal instruction and to enjoy the company of other artists.
Artists and patrons are invited to attend a gallery talk of exhibiting artists for each CTVAC exhibition.
Poetry Inspired by Art Readings
Poets are invited to write poems inspired by artworks on exhibit and participate in a poetry reading in conjunction with scheduled gallery talks. Poems are posted next to the inspirational artworks and available in notebooks in the galleries.
Creating Wellness Series
(In collaboration with The American Theatre)
ART of Daily Living
Led by artist and ordained Minister Suzanne L. Vinson, The ART of Daily Living workshops are a combination of mindfulness practice, artistic creativity, and energy renewal infused with ritual, art, and conversation. With a spirit of collaboration, community, and playfulness, retreat participants will consciously infuse their work with head, heart and hands.
Telling YOUR Story: SOULCollage®
Led by Suzan Thompson, this creative process encourages participants to access deep inner wisdom and artistry. In a relaxed and supportive atmosphere you will create colorful collages using images (no words!) from magazines and other media, which represent different aspects of one’s self to integrate their gifts and guidance into daily living.
